Singer Emilio sued over bus crash

HOUSTON THE LAWSUIT: Read the lawsuit filed by two of Emilio's band members

Drummer David Sandoval and Pedro Ramirez were passengers on the bus that crashed in March on the West Loop at the Southwest Freeway exit. The Grammy award winning singer was driving the bus and suffered a critical head injury. The five passengers on the bus suffered minor injuries and were not hospitalized.

According to Bellaire police, /*Emilio Navaira*/'s blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit, at 0.19. The Tejano music star, however, has not yet been charged.

Since his crash, Navaira has been hospitalized. He's currently listed in fair condition at Memorial Hermann TIRR.

He could face charges of DWI or felony intoxication assault for hurting the passengers. Navaira has twice been arrested for driving while drunk.

I spoke to Navaira's manager shortly by phone this afternoon. He referred our calls to Navaira's lawyer, who has not returned our calls.
