Former TX congressman heads to court

HOUSTON Craig Washington says he's eager to prove his innocence. Washington is accused of firing at two men outside his law office on New Year's Day. On Friday, he spoke outside the Criminal Justice Center, saying he'll be represented by a number of lawyers.

"The problem is finding enough space in the courtroom for all the lawyers who want to help to be there," he said. "We'll field a team. I assume when they got the indictment, they were ready for trial, 'cause they sure as hell gonna have to try it."

Washington surrendered to police and posted a $30,000 bond. He's schedule for arraignment next month.
