Man may be linked to string of assaults

PLANO, TX Stanley Vernell Ledbetter remained in jail Monday after being arrested last week on one count of aggravated sexual assault. Bail is set at $1 million.

Authorities said Monday that the 30-year-old Plano resident is a suspect in a string of sexual assaults and home invasions in the Dallas area since 2005. Dallas police Lt. Sally Lannom said DNA testing has linked Ledbetter to seven cases in Dallas.

It was not immediately clear if Ledbetter had an attorney.
