Suspects running from police hide in back yards

HOUSTON (KTRK) Just after midnight, an HPD officer spotted a suspicious looking car on the South Loop near Stella Link. The officer tried to pull the driver over, but the motorist sped up and took the South Braeswood exit.

The getaway driver tried to make a quick U-turn, but lost control and crashed on a grassy embankment..

"Fortunately, patrol officers were in the area and coming to assist the officer and we set up a tight perimeter and our K-9 officer was out here and we were able to catch two of the three suspects," said Sgt. TR Simmons with the Houston Police Department.

The two suspects were caught in the backyards of private homes. The third suspect got away.
