Six injured in apartment complex fire

Six people have been injured in an early morning apartment complex fire in Odessa. City spokeswoman Andrea Goodson said all six suffered burns in the Tuesday morning fire. It was ignited by a candle in a bedroom of one of the units.

Goodson said two of the injured were treated and released. Two were transferred to a Lubbock hospital and two remained hospitalized in Odessa.

An apartment belonging to a couple and another unit where a family of four lived were the most extensively damaged. The other 14 units in the building suffered smoke and water damage.

Goodson said the fire began in the couple's apartment.
