Police are searching for a man they say led them on a chase Monday morning in east Houston Monday.

According to investigators, police were called to an aggravated robbery at Interstates 610 and 45 around 10:45am. A grey Dodge Charger was stolen and soon spotted on Wayide.

When officers tried to stop the car, the suspect took off, leading them on a short chase.

The pursuit ended near Lockwood and Senora, at which time the suspect jumped out and took off on foot.

Thanks to bad weather and foggy windows, police couldn't tell if anyone was in the car when they found it. SWAT officers had the vehicle surrounded, but soon learned it was empty.

Officers were combing nearby neighborhoods to try to find the suspect, who is believed to be armed.

A nearby middle school was briefly locked down, but that's since been lifted.
