Marquiez Pratt was covered by his family as he left the courthouse Tuesday morning. He's charged with endangering a child and possession of a controlled substance.
Investigators say Pratt was asleep Sunday morning when his son Jaiden shot himself with a stolen handgun in his apartment.
Pratt, 20, is also facing drug charges after police found a number of items used to sell drugs inside his apartment.
As part of his bond conditions, Pratt is not allowed any contact with children.
