Court records show 28-year-old Michael Cole Johnson of Victoria faces arraignment June 15.
Victoria County sheriff's Chief Deputy Terry Simons said Monday that Kylar Johnson was missing for several hours March 25 before his father contacted authorities. The body was discovered the next day in a neighbor's yard.
Simons says Johnson allegedly was detailing his truck when the boy wandered off.
Johnson was indicted last week on charges of negligent homicide, injury to a child and child abandonment. He was arrested Thursday at a refinery where he works. Court records did not list an attorney for Johnson, who's free on his own recognizance.
The dog was euthanized.
