A SWAT standoff on the south side of Houston ended peacefully with one arrest Saturday, but neighbors believe the scene was tied to a deadly shooting earlier in the day. Only Eyewitness News cameras were rolling as the man surrendered to police.

Worried neighbors watched the SWAT standoff as it happened. They say it lasted several hours.

Officers blocked off several streets in the area as they closed in on one house on Idaho near Reliant Stadium.

At the time, you could hear SWAT negotiators on loud speakers, ordering the man to surrender and saying there was a warrant for his arrest.

Police said homicide detectives are leading this investigation, but they are not immediately releasing any details.

Several neighbors on Idaho said the standoff was linked to a deadly shooting that happened overnight at the Missionary Village Apartments on Corder, which was just a few blocks away from the SWAT scene.

Police are refusing to comment about any possible connection between the two incidents.
