A fight outside a southwest Houston bar ended with a man being run over and the suspect fleeing. Police say it began as some kind of fight at the Cosmos Disco Nightclub on Gulfton near Renwick around 1am. The fight continued and moved outside out of the bar. According to authorities, that's when one of the men got into his car and ran over the other man involved in the fight.

Authorities say the driver and passenger fled the scene. They are still trying to figure out how the incident all started.

"I don't know exactly. I know that it initially started inside the bar. The altercation spilled out into the parking lot. There were some words exchanged in the parking lot," said Sgt. Hayes with the Houston Police Department. "Things went back and forth a little bit and escalated into a couple of the parties climbing into their vehicle and one of them got run over."

The 36-year-old victim was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.

Police are searching for a black Honda sedan. They've been interviewing witnesses who were outside the bar when the incident happened. Authorities are also looking at surveillance video inside and outside the bar to try to identify that suspect.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
