Rice falls to Tulsa 81-72 in C-USA quarters

Steven Idlet had 12 points and eight rebounds for the
second-seeded Golden Hurricane (19-12), who have won nine of their
last 11 games and play No. 3 seed UTEP in a semifinal contest on
Friday.
Tamir Jackson scored 15 points and Arsalan Kazemi 12 for the
10th-seeded Owls (14-18), who never led on Thursday.
Lucas Kuipers' 3-pointer got Rice within 74-70 with 59 seconds
remaining, but Tulsa protected the lead by making 7 of 10
free-throw attempts down the stretch.
