Late-night fire calls keep HFD busy

HOUSTON

Around 11pm last night, crews got a call of smoke on the 10th floor of a building on Rusk near Travis. Firefighters searched the high-rise but couldn't find any fire. Crews say the smoke possibly came from a generator. No one was hurt during the incident.

Just 30 minutes later, firefighters responded to another high rise on Fannin near Polk. Firefighters say a light fixture overheated and caused part of the building's sprinkler system to activate. No one was hurt and crews say there was no need to evacuate the building.
