Gas leak forced road closures in N. Houston

HOUSTON The leak happened around 12:30am. Apparently, a cable company crew hit and ruptured the line. The gas bubbled up through mud and water at the construction site. CenterPoint crews have capped the gas leak but crews are still at the scene trying to repair the leak.

There were a lot of roadblocks because of the gas leak. The feeder road of the beltway was closed for several hours as a precaution. Greenspoint Drive was being blocked off for several blocks in both directions and they were reopened just before 6am. The main lanes of I-45 and the tollway weren't affected by the leak.

It's still unclear how long the repairs are going to take.
