Police say a single bullet hit a man then struck a gas line in southeast Houston. The incident happened around 4:30pm Tuesday. We're told the man was shot, then the stray bullet hit a gas meter on the side of a house on Tuam at Scott. A small amount of gas escaped, but CenterPoint Energy has shut off the line, and is in the process of fixing the line.

Police on the scene say the suspect and the victim's son got into an argument, and both pulled out guns. The shooting victim was trying to pull his son away from the argument when he was shot. They believe the shooting is drug related.

Authorities say the shooting victim was shot in the neck and was transported to a nearby hospital. He is expected to live.
