Two arrested, 45 marijuana plants seized in Galveston

Officers located 45 marijuana plants in the backyard, some as tall as 5 feet. They also found marijuana inside the home along with other evidence of the illegal grow.

Galveston authorities have arrested two people in connection with growing copious amounts of marijuana plants in their backyard. After receiving numerous complaints of outdoor marijuana plants growing in the 2200 block of 31st Street in the East Isle Community, officers executed a search warrant on Saturday. Officers located a large marijuana grow in the backyard, which was visible to many. Officers detained two adults, while two children were released to a family member per the mother's request.

Leesa R. Young, 32, and Camden Dore, 23, are both charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Young and Dore are being held on $5,500 bond each.

Authorities say the operation resulted in the recovery of more than 55 lbs. of marijuana.
