Capital murder charges have been filed against two men accused in the March slaying of an off-duty security guard in southwest Houston. Andres Morales, 24, and Eduardo Ramirez Cortez, 28, were arrested without incident Tuesday night, according to a Houston Police Department statement.

The two men are accused of shooting 47-year-old Manuel Rangel Aguirre during a fight at a parking lot in the 8000 block of South Gessner on March 15.

Detectives say Aguirre, who was dressed in his security guard uniform, was trying to get into his car when Morales and Cortez allegedly approached him, according to the statement. The three men allegedly got into a fight, and Aguirre was shot several times. He died at the scene.

An investigation into Aguirre's murder led to information that identified Morales and Cortez as the two suspects, according to the statement.
