Reward offered in model rocket case

June 12, 2009 1:24:04 PM PDT
A reward is now being offered for information that leads to whoever was behind launching a model rocket that came dangerously close to a Continental jet that had just left Bush Intercontinental Airport. Crime Stoppers and investigators with the Liberty County Sheriff's Office hope the reward will help lead them to whoever launched the rocket back on May 29. That five to seven foot solid white rocket came within 100 feet of the jet, which had 29 passengers on board as well as a crew of four.

After an investigation it was been determined that the rocket was probably launched from the ground in Chambers County.

Anyone with any information on this incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for any information called in to the 713-222-8477 tips hotline or submitted online at www.crime-stoppers.org that leads to the identification, arrest and/or charging of any suspect involved in any criminal activity surrounding this incident. All tipsters remain anonymous.
