Fort Hood soldier dies in Iraq

FORT HOOD, TX A Defense Department statement says Cpl. Stephen S. Thompson of Tulsa, Okla., died Saturday in Baghdad. The statement contains no other details on the shooting, but it says the military continues to investigate.

Thompson was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood.
