Firefighters busy battling two house fires

The first happened just after 10pm on Vailview at Rosemary in northeast Houston. They quickly put out the fire, which they sat began in a back bedroom. A woman and her two daughters were inside at the time but got out safely.

A second fire broke out on Beechnut near Clodine about an hour later in southwest Houston. Firefighters had to break down the door and smash windows to put out the flames. Most of the damage to the home was caused by water and fire.

The residents were not home at the time.
