Free diabetes screenings being offered

HOUSTON Here's your chance to get screened for free. As part of American Diabetes Alert Day, the ADA and St. Joseph's Hospital will offer free diabetes screenings at three locations.

• 8 a.m. - 10a.m. SCI, 1929 Allen Parkway
• 11a.m. - 1 p.m. The Continental Center I (lobby level) 1600 Smith
• 2p.m. - 4p.m. Two Allen Center (lobby level) 1200 Smith

If left untreated, diabetes can lead to heart attack and stroke, kidney failure, blindness and amputations.
