'I'm very happy with myself': Sean Spicer describes life after White House
In an exclusive interview with "Good Morning America," Sean Spicer talks about life after The White House.
Spicer recently made a surprise appearance at the Emmy Awards where he had a chance to make fun of himself. The cameo was apparently awards host Stephen Colbert's idea.
GMA's Paula Faris asked Spicer what President Donald Trump thought about his Emmy appearance.
"He was very supportive. He thought I did a great job. And so it was very reassuring," Spicer said.
Critics said he did it to help his image.
"I feel very good with my image. I'm very happy with myself. I am able to go out and explain a lot of things now. But I'm not on a tour. I'm out having some fun," Spicer responded.
Faris said those same critics feel Spicer lied to the American people.
"Have you ever lied to the American people?" Faris asked.
"I don't think so," Spicer said.

Spicer admits he made mistakes and apologized.
"But to watch some of the personal attacks questioning my integrity, questioning what my intentions were, I think were really over the top," Spicer said.
Spicer resigned in July as press secretary in protest over the hiring of White House communications director, New York financier Anthony Scaramucci.
Scaramucci resigned after just 11 days on the job and hours after President Trump's new chief of staff, John Kelly, was sworn into office.
Spicer said Scaramucci was the impetus for leaving and said if the president asked him to return to The White House, it would be "difficult to ever say no to the president," but he doesn't anticipate that call.
