Now that Bertha is gone, the furnace turns on

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Bertha is no more, and we heating back up.

Isolated showers are possible this afternoon as temperatures heat back up into the mid 90s under a partly cloudy sky. Overnight, temperatures will dip down into the upper 70s, near normal for the time of year.

What should we expect for the weekend?

Saturday should be rain-free with typical July heat in the mid 90s. A pocket of Gulf moisture blowing through Sunday afternoon should be good enough for a 20% chance of isolated showers. High temperatures will climb into the upper 90s.
