18-wheeler dangling off Katy Fwy overpass near Hwy 99; multiple vehicles involved in crash: HCSO
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A dangling 18-wheeler along I-10 is causing backups for drivers in the west Harris County area on Thursday.
Images from Houston TranStar, which reported the incident at about 10:44 a.m., show the 18-wheeler hanging over the Katy Freeway eastbound at SH-99 Lanier Parkway.
According to Lt. Terry Garza with the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the major crash may have involved three vehicles. SkyEye13 flew over the major wreck, where at least one other 18-wheeler could be seen involved and with heavy front-end damage.
TranStar is reporting several lanes closed at the intersection.
At this time, it's unclear what led the heavy truck to come off the road or whether anyone was injured.
