HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Hot-tober continues this weekend and into next week with near record or even record-breaking high temperatures possible over the next few days.
Temperature Saturday evening will fall into the mid 60s under a mostly clear sky. And it's all sunshine and warm weather for Sunday too with highs climbing into the mid 90s. The record high temperature for October 13th is 95 degrees.
We'll keep it real. It's going to be another hot October weekend. High temperatures will reach into the low-to-mid 90s both days, and the humidity will creep up a notch.
We'll remain at 90 or hotter through the weekend and into early next week. Temperatures will climb into the mid 90s Monday and Tuesday, likely breaking daily temp records both days. We do get a cool front to drop in on Wednesday, which, while not bringing us true fall conditions, should at least break our 90 degree streak by midweek and beyond.
Rain chances remain very slim over the next 5 to 7 days, but we could see a glimmer of hope by the end next week and into the following weekend. Another cool front could move in bringing in a chance for a few showers and storms a week or more out.
No threats to the gulf at the moment. There's an area of potential development in the open Atlantic with 20% development odds, but it does not currently look like a threat to the US. Head to our daily Tropical Update page for a look at what else we're covering in the tropics.
