A woman who broke racial barriers in Canada is the first black person to appear alone on Canadian currency.
In 1946, Viola Desmond took a seat in a Canadian movie theater that was reserved for whites only.
Desmond was dragged and jailed after refusing to give up her seat.
The Bank of Canada is now honoring her actions by featuring Desmond on their new $10.
It will be in circulation by the end of the year.
