Which stores have the best prices on school uniforms?

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The last few days of summer are numbered for kids heading back to school, so do you have everything you need?

Don't worry about shopping around for the best deals, we've done all the work for you on finding the lowest prices for school uniforms.

If you're still shopping, you're not alone. One-third of parents wait until now, and for some the date has really creeped up.

At the Uniform Superstore in southeast Houston, we found the largest selection. Pants, shorts, and uniform tops were all organized by size, color, and style. The price for short sleeve polos in both girls and boys sizes 4-14 was $4.99. For sizes 16-20 the price was $6.99.

Boys khaki shorts and girls uniform shorts were priced at $6.99, but we found the cheapest price on girls pique polo dresses for $4.99 each.

"They have good prices here," said shopper Deborah Spencer.

Parents who have shopped at the Uniform Supercenter in the past say it's a good value.

"The quality is really, really good. You can wash them over and over and they still have the same shape and same color," Spencer said.

Our next stop was Old Navy. The retailer has boys and girls uniform pique polos on sale for $5 each, down from $9.94. There's an even better bargain if you buy in bulk - white or navy uniform four packs of polos are $20.

"I have tried JC Penney, and I have tried Macy's, and they are a bit more expensive, but I find these are just as good," one shopper said of Old Navy's quality.

At Academy, their prices stay steady all season long. Girls and boys polos are $4.99 each, while shorts and girls scooters are priced at $8.99. Young mens and juniors polos are $8.99.

The best price we heard came from a Facebook viewer who said Fallas Paredes was the best price. We checked out the prices and they have uniform polos for $3.99, khaki shorts for $5.99, and pants for $7.99.

To save even more money, check out the deals late next week or the following week as uniform prices start going on sale and clearance as retailers make room for fall.
