Barge free after getting stuck at mouth of ship channel

HIGHLANDS, Texas (KTRK) -- A barge that got stuck on a piling this morning at the mouth of the San Jacinto River is free.

Tug boats were dispatched to pull the vessel at the outbound river.

The Lynchburg Ferry was shut down as a result of the collision. It was back up and running around 11 a.m. Thursday.
