HOUSTON (KTRK) -- It's a stinky mess and residents want it gone. Imagine living in a complex with hundreds of people when suddenly the dumpsters disappear.
That was the situation at a complex in northwest Houston until Eyewitness News started asking questions.
Families who live at Woodvine apartments have a stinky situation on their hands. They say two dumpsters used to sit at the complex, until Thursday.
Resident Jonathan Ramirez said, "They came and picked them up and just dumped the trash on the floor as you can see and Friday they came and got the other trash can and threw it on the floor."
As we talked with Jonathan, a groundskeeper dumped unbagged leaves onto the mess. Neighbors say children walk by this pile on their way to the playground.
Resident Alexis Ramirez said, "It stinks, it's nasty. Everybody here feels gross about it, and we don't know how to feel when we need to come throw our trash."
The sign on the office manager's door read 'open' and the light was on, but no one came to the door when we knocked. Moments later, we spotted some guys roll up in a pick-up truck. They say their boss told them to deal with the trash pile.
Neighbors were glad to see the pile shrinking, but worry it will build up again.
