AUSTIN, Texas (KTRK) -- A group of protesters is headed to Austin to voice their concerns over the proposed I-45 expansion project, demanding more equity and sustainability in the project, as well as future ones.
East downtown would be one of the many areas that would be impacted by the project, ultimately demolishing businesses and forcing people to move in order to make room.

There are three bills proposing changes to how TxDOT plans these types of projects that protesters say are badly needed.

TxDOT has offered relocation compensation, and they offered $27 million for affordable housing in affected areas.
A hearing will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m.
