3 dead in multi-vehicle accident on I-45

NEW WAVERLY, Texas (KTRK) -- Three people were killed in a horrific crash along I-45 just north of New Waverly on Saturday.

DPS said five family members from Oklahoma were riding in a Jeep that rolled over. Three women, ages 17, 27 and 58, were killed. They were all riding in the back seat.

The driver and front seat passenger were transported to the hospital.

State troopers say an Isuzu was abandoned on the shoulder of I-45 when a car came along and hit it. The Jeep then rolled over as it attempted to avoid that wreck.
