HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Waited last minute to mail your tax returns? There's only one Houston-area post office that's keeping its doors open late for Tax Day.
Employees at the Downtown General Post Office (GPO), located at 401 Franklin, will be in the parking lot to collect your returns until midnight.
Otherwise, filers must visit their local post office before its regularly scheduled closing time. Those dropping off their returns at a collection box need to double check the scheduled pick up times on those local collection boxes, or risk missing the deadline. Customers may visit usps.com to query Post Offices that are regularly opened later than 5 p.m.
