ESPN sets up shop in Houston
ESPN, the worldwide leader in sports, is setting up shop in Houston ahead of Super Bowl 51.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- What does it take to produce on-location Super Bowl broadcasts that will be seen around the world? Just ask ESPN!

After two years of planning, the network's Super Bowl programming kicks off first thing Wednesday morning. It takes more than 400 people to produce the extensive coverage, which is shot live in Houston and integrated at ESPN world headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut.

According to ESPN coordinating director Michael Feinberg, the network wants to show not just the big game, but also the best of what Houston has to offer.

"We want to showcase the entire city. We'll send crews around the city. We've done that over the past few weeks now and shot various iconic images and museums, just to showcase the entire city so the people watching at home will really great a great idea of everything Houston has to offer," he said.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of ESPN and this station.
