Spirit Airlines is responding to backlash it received over an online promotion that made light of the celebrity nude photo hack.
With the subject line "Our Selfie Leaked Too...", the image of an apparent naked woman promotes the "Bare Fare" sale. The email goes on to read, "We feel naked; you were never supposed to see this Bare Fare! It was meant for a special someone (who isn't you). Now it's all over the Internet for you to take advantage of as you see fit."
In addition to mailing out the promotion to its customers, Spirit Airlines also tweeted out the image. It has since been removed.
When you click through on the email to retrieve the deal, the link takes you to another promotion - the "Don't Recline (This Deal)". Making light of other national news stories, Spirit says "You don't need to worry about fighting another passenger over a reclined seat...because our seats don't recline!"
