Teen ice cream scooper fat shamed

LAYTON, UT (KTRK) -- A community is rallying around one Utah teenager after she was bullied for her weight.

19-year-old Justine Elwood works at Cold Stone Creamery.

She was scooping ice cream for a family when the woman turned to her kids and said, "If you eat too much ice cream, you'll look like her."

The woman then went further and wrote a note on Yelp calling Elwood "disgustingly obese."

Though Elwood has taken the post in stride, people in the community and on social media have been professing their support for the teen.

Customers brought balloons, roses and encouraging notes for Elwood during her shift Saturday.
