HUMBLE, TX -- Everybody has a story to tell.
Humble residents Sarahdia and Demetrius Johnson are giving those storytellers a venue to share their story with their new spot in Humble, The Soap Box.
Located in the Fuel Caf building on the 200 block of Main Street in downtown Humble, the Johnson's welcome anyone to join them the last Friday of every month where storytellers can share their life experiences and stories via music, spoken word, poetry or any medium they wish to use.
"We first thought of the idea to have a place where we would have storytellers share their stories when we were living in Miami but we couldn't think of a name to go with it," Demetrius said. "We moved to the Humble area about seven years ago and the idea resurfaced. We all have experiences in our lives and have stories that could inspire others.
The Soap Box, held the last Friday of every month, opens at 8 p.m. and guests can enjoy coffee and snacks before the storytelling begins at 9 p.m. and lasts until 10 p.m.
