
BAYTOWN, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities said police officers have arrested and charged a suspect for killing a man in a Baytown apartment shooting.

According to the Baytown Police Department, 20-year-old Zachary Eleby has been arrested and charged with the murder of 32-year-old Jerome Harris of Louisiana. Police said the shooting happened on Jan. 31 at about 10 p.m. in an apartment complex in the 1700 block of James Bowie Drive.
Authorities said that officers responded to the scene for a call on an unresponsive man. Upon arrival, Baytown Fire Department paramedics were performing life-saving measures on Harris, officials said.
Harris was then taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, authorities said. Investigators said they determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound.
Officials said BPD Crime Scene detectives responded to process the scene. Police said Elebey's arrest was determined by investigators, who utilized "a combination of evidence analysis, technology, and strong community partnerships."
Authorities did not immediately release any details on a possible motive for the deadly shooting.
