Video shows tense standoff between Idaho police and elk

HAUSER, Idaho (KTRK) -- It's a bizarre standoff that police in Idaho never expected to happen.

Officers were called when an elk wouldn't move off the road Saturday.

In the video, you can hear people laughing as officers try to shoo it off back into the woods.

The standoff continued for at least 30 minutes before the elk finally gave up.
