HOUSTON (KTRK) -- It's a girl!
The Houston Zoo is celebrating their healthy new female seal lion pup, who is bonding with her mother.
Zookeepers confirmed parents Kamia and Jonah are the parents of the adorable tot, who handlers say is just now being introduced to water and gaining weight.
The pup will one day help guests understand that the choices they make can save animals in the wild as part of the sustainable seafood Take Action initiative.
The zoo says the pup has not been named yet, and expected she will make her public debut in the next few weeks.
