PHOTOS: Unusual frilled shark caught off Australian coast

AUSTRALIA -- Some fisherman are still reeling from a very unusual catch they made off the coast of Australia.

The fishermen were out looking for perch when they caught a frilled shark. It has a mouth packed full of needle-like teeth and a body like an eel.

Frilled sharks are sometimes described as "living fossils" because they have ancestors dating back 80 million years.

The shark is known to live at extreme depths in both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. They are rarely seen because their habitat is mostly off limits to fishing.
