HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The toll from last night's shooting is hitting residents at Haverstock Hills Apartments hard.
"We need to pray. I can't stress that enough. If that park would have been filled with children it could have been worse," said Haverstock Hill resident Andrea.
Investigators said a man with some type of assault rifle fired about 18 rounds, hitting six people.
Three of those shot were siblings Brandy, Isaiah and Wayne Rusher, along with three others including a teen girl.

Investigators said an argument turned very violent when a man got out of the car, grabbed a gun from the trunk and fired into the group.
"He clicked it and just raised it up and I heard the first round and just started running," said eyewitness Tonya Brooks.

Christopher Beatty, 33, died after the shooting. Beatty's girlfriend, Brandy Rusher, was one of the injured.

The complex was full of people on Sunday evening as parents grabbed their kids and took cover, but the toll was already tough and residents have had enough.
"There's really some good people here. People trying to make it from day to day. When people come in here and do this it gives the whole complex a bad name," said Andrea.
