Houston police are looking for a man they say posed as a contractor to steal thousands in merchandise

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police are asking the public to help them find a suspect they say posed as a contractor to steal thousands in merchandise from north side stores. Randy Paul Moore, 48, is charged with five counts of felony theft.

Investigators say Moore claimed to work for a company and targeted businesses that offered lines of credit to companies. Police say Moore would obtain credit usually using false product orders and business cards.

HPD's Investigative First Responders Division says Moore charged several thousands of dollars for merchandise at 10 stores in the North Freeway area and that he later pawned the merchandise for cash.

HPD released surveillance video of Moore pawning items and is asking the public for help in locating him.

It is believed Moore is moving around in the FM 1960 area by staying in various motels, according to police.
