SPRING, TX (KTRK) -- In the wake of an on-field fight that ended a high school football game early Friday night, the school district is handing out punishments.
It happened in a game between Westfield and Spring high schools, both unbeaten, in a rematch of last year's regional final. The fight between the teams broke out late in the game and officials decided to call it early. The score was 36-25 for Westfield, but now both teams will forfeit.
Both head coaches have voluntarily suspended themselves for one game.
In addition, Westfield has four players suspended for two games, and two players suspended for one game. Spring has one player suspended for three games, one player suspended for two games, and three players suspended for one game.
All roster players from both teams must perform 25 hours of community service.
