HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A large 18-wheeler fire kept emergency workers busy overnight in northwest Houston.
Firefighters arrived on the West Sam Houston Tollway at Philippine Street just after 1am, where they found the Little Caesar's 18-wheeler consumed by flames and heavy black smoke.
Images from Houston Transtar cameras show the intensity of the fire as the truck became fully involved. The fire is now out, leaving behind a very charred big rig.
The damage left behind just shows how intense this fire was as it spread throughout the cab of the truck.
The fire blocked off a center and right lane, bringing traffic to a standstill at times while crews worked to get the scene cleaned up. All lanes reopened just before 6am.
There is still no word on why the 18-wheeler caught on fire. Fortunately, the driver was okay and was not injured.
