Surveillance video from the nail salon robbery may help authorities identify them

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Customers are still showing up Friday morning to closed doors, in utter disbelief, not realizing an employee at their favorite northwest Harris County nail salon has been shot.

Around 2:40pm Thursday, two armed men barged into a nail salon in the 13000 block of Veterans Memorial. They grabbed purses, cell phones and wallets. When they tried to grab more, a 65-year-old employee chased after one of the suspects. The other suspect ran behind her and shot her in the back.

For patrons of this shopping center, the entire situation frightens them. One shopper said, "That's really bad that the area has had so many problems lately."

Customers who do show up say they love the employees because they are so nice and they are saddened by the news. But they will continue to come to the salon and support them.

The shooting victim remains in critical condition at Ben Taub Hospital.

As for the two suspects in this case, they are still on the run.

Suspect #1 was wearing a red hoodie, dark jeans, and black underwear. He was seen with a gun tucked in his underwear prior to entering the business.

Suspect #2 was wearing a gray hoodie, dark jeans and a 'beanie' cap on his head.

They were seen talking to two other suspects driving an older model white Dodge Durango just before the robbery.

Anyone with information about the suspects' identity and/or location is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for any information that leads to the filing of felony charges or arrest of wanted fugitives. All tipsters remain anonymous.
