Community helps with Woodlands teen's funeral

WOODLANDS, TX (KTRK) -- There is no shortage of support for a Woodlands family dealing with the death of their 18-year-old daughter, who died while attending the Free Press Summer Festival on Sunday.

Megan Tilton, a 2016 graduate of The Woodlands High School and member of the Highsteppers drill team, died after taking an illegal substance while attending the concert.

The news of Tilton's death spread quickly resulting in a GoFundMe page set up to help the family with funeral expenses. As of Friday, the page had surpassed the goal of $35,000 with more than 480 people donating more than $38,000 to the family.
