'He did not deserve to die': Family, community leaders respond after man shot and killed by ICE

Community leaders and family members are demanding an independent investigation following a deadly shooting involving an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent.
On Tuesday, ICE claims they were conducting a vehicle stop as part of a targeted enforcement operation to arrest a man they say was living in the country illegally. ICE alleges that the man, identified as Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, attempted to evade arrest, rammed his car into an ICE vehicle, and refused commands to stop.
On Wednesday, family members and advocates held a press conference in response to the deadly shooting.
"I want to tell you about my dad," Ronaldo Salgado, Lorenzo Salgado's oldest son, said. "He was a hard-working family man who never wanted his name to be known by anyone outside of his family. He wanted nothing else in life but to provide for his wife and see his sons become great people."
Ronaldo said his father, who was on his way to work that morning, had been in the country for nearly 35 years and was in the process of obtaining his work permit.
