Rep. Sylvia Garcia and Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare gave more information about this week's deadly ICE shooting of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo.
"Unfortunately, there has been another death of a Mexican national in the United States," President Claudia Sheinbaum said after Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was shot and killed by an ICE agent.
Mayor John Whitmire shared his condolences and called the shooting a tragedy, adding that the city is "in touch with federal elected officials, insisting there's a transparent and independent investigation."
ICE agents were involved in a deadly shooting that stemmed from a targeted enforcement operation on Tuesday, according to the agency.
