John Lennon art on display in local gallery

Houston (KTRK) -- Off the Wall Gallery in the Galleria area has a new exhibit showcasing the art of John Lennon Thursday through Sunday.

The collection includes 72 drawings by the music legend himself, dating from 1964 to 1980.

"It is very rare to have an exhibition where there are this many pieces in the show," said curator, Lynne Clifford. She said the art is autobiographical and includes his time as a single man in the 60's to when he met the love of his life Yoko Ono.

Also included in the collection are prints from his lyrics of songs like "Instant Karma."

Off the Wall Gallery is located right outside of Neiman Marcus in the Galleria.
