New parents draw inspiration from Houston Astros in naming newborn son on Christmas

LAFAYETTE, Louisiana (KTRK) -- One can say the Astros' World Series championship was a Christmas gift to Houston fans.

So it's only fitting that the Astros were very much an inspiration for a husband and wife's Christmas Day arrival of their newborn son.

Astros fans Paige and Kelly Hodges celebrated the birth of a seven-pound, 13-ounce boy on Monday morning.

According to Lafayette General Health in Louisiana, the couple decided to name the child Houston in honor of the Astros.

The birth of Houston Hodges has gotten congratulations on Facebook, most notably from Astros fans.
