High school football season is nearly here. This past week local teams have been hard at practice and playing a few scrimmages to see what they can pick up from the other teams.

The Dayton Broncos went to Friendswood Friday, Aug. 15, to scrimmage the Mustangs. Cleveland's Indians hosted a scrimmage with Hardin-Jefferson and will travel to Hempstead Thursday, Aug. 21, for another while Dayton hosts Milby to a practice game.

The Liberty Panthers went to Winnie for a scrimmage against the East Chambers Buccaneers on Aug. 15.
